Kay Bosick
Executive Director

Kay Bosick was born in Wichita, Kansas and moved to California in 1964. She studied Business Administration at junior college in Sacramento and later obtained a degree in Psychology from Sonoma State University. Kay married in 1973 and in 1979 she and her husband moved to Solano County raising three children in our communities. Prior to working for Youth and Family Services (YFS) Kay worked for the Vallejo Unified School District and was an active volunteer in the schools and local community campaigns for the school board and city council. She sat on committees as an advocate for education and children’s services.

Kay was hired by YFS to work in the “Just For Kids” program in October of 1985 and since then has advanced through at least six different positions at YFS, most recently as Director of Operations and Interim Executive Director. Given the history of YFS, the needs and the desirability of continuing the culture and stability of YFS, and the strengths Kay has to lead the organization, the Board of Directors unanimously appointed Kay as the new Executive Director of YFS in March of 2005.

Under Kay’s leadership the Agency has retained its focus of working with high risk populations and primarily economically disadvantaged children, youth, women, men, families and special populations such as foster youth, incarcerated or formerly incarcerated individuals, substance abusers, and children/youth challenged by mental health diagnoses.

As Executive Director, Kay manages and directs the organization in accordance with its organizational goals and operational policies. She facilitates collaboration between YFS and other agencies to develop programs that match community needs and represents the organization with major customers, stakeholders, the financial community and the public.
